Where to find a dental handpiece model number or part number
Where to look for model, SKU, and MPN evidence on the handpiece, old component, packaging, invoice, or technical drawing.
Check multiple evidence sources
The number on the removed component is not always the number used to order the replacement. Start with the handpiece body and any service documentation, then compare the old part, package label, invoice line, and drawing references.
- Manufacturer and model marking on the handpiece body
- SKU or MPN on the old package
- Part reference on a service diagram
- Supplier invoice or previous purchase record
- Engraving or printed code on the removed component
Keep the raw string exactly as printed
When you send an identifier, preserve punctuation, dashes, spaces, prefixes, and suffixes. Normalized search can still find variants, but the exact printed string is useful evidence when several catalog records are similar.
If the number does not match the catalog
Do not assume the number is wrong. It may be a superseded reference, internal production code, or subcomponent identifier. Combine it with the handpiece model and a photo before choosing a replacement.
